Keep On Keeping On

Hey Mahm and Dad

This week was pretty good. There is not a lot to report besides the fact that my comp had  to have 'emergency changes' and I am going to teach the area again.... So I am here in Reu right now picking up my comp so I don't have a lot of time to write.  I love you guys! It's awesome that you could fix Patrice, and keep on keeping on.

Love and miss you guys!

Desafios & Volcanos

Hey Maham y Daddy-O

This week has been prety bueno. Lots of cool things happened. We didn't baptize anyone this week, which is sad, but we've been working hard. We have a desafio (challenge) in our area where we loose power every day from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.  It really sucks. We have heard that it is because a bunch-ton of people haven't been paying their bills for like years. So the power company is cutting off the power when we most need it... at night. It also sucks because we can't work when there is no power, so we just hangout in member's houses.

Another cool fact about Guatemala is that there are a bunch of volcanos and we live pretty close to one. So every once and a while there are earthquakes. But they are small ones, and there aren't any buildings here that are more than two levels. So nothing really happens when we have earthquakes. But ya they are pretty frequent. Sometimes I'm afraid that the earth will open up and eat us. But I'm getting used to it.

We are still teaching K..., but she is not really progressing like she should be. She lives with her Aunts and they fill her head with crap about the Gospel and about the missionaries and she has started to lie to us. Like when we first met her, she had never been baptized or attended any church. But now she has been baptized two times and goes to church almost every day (?).  It's sad and frustrating.

But anyways this week I realized I know a butt load of crap about the gospel and that I'm really humble too.

That's pretty much it for this week

Love and miss you guys

Mole' Mole'

Mahm y Daddy-O

How's it hangin' over there in the states?... Ya there are crazies here in Guatemala. It is pretty great working hard doin' some cool stuff, having some great experiences. Everything with me is good.

We baptized on Saturday, a little boy named J.  His Grandparents are members, but his parents aren't so the baptism counted for us. But after he was baptized, he bore his testimony really awesome and his entire nonmember family was there. I think that it touched some of their hearts, because now we are teaching his Aunts and Uncle. He is an awesome example, even though he is only 8 years old.

This week I got my toe looked at by the mission nurses. They gave me some antibiotic and some cream, and my toe is doing a lot better.

What happened with the members and that video, was they gave me some fried eggs with mole' and I ate the eggs but I didn't eat all the mole because that stuff is gross. It was also cold. But the Hermana insited that I eat it. So I was basically force fed. She recorded me and wanted to send the video to you. So I gave her your Facebook info. But she doesn't speak English and you guys don't speak Spanish, so I helped translate what she wanted to say to you and what you said to them. That's all.  I didn't break any rules -don't worry.

Anyways one of my investigators is named K she is 15 years old and has a 1 year old kid.  If ya do the math on that on she was like 14 or thirteen and some change when she got pregnant. Which I think is freaking crazy. But the Dad of her baby left and her parents live in Mexico. So she lives with he Grandpa and we are teaching the both of them. She is going to get baptized the 23 of January, but she has some difficulties. So please pray for her. Her baby's name is H BTW. There are a lot more investigators, but she is the only one that is way out of the ordinary right now.

I have found a couple of things here that I like to eat her like Chiky cookies and Tortrix chips. But mostly what we eat here is chicken, and I think that when I get home I will never eat chicken again because of how much I eat here. I have diaherrias only like one day out of the week now, so we are improving in that aspect of things :)

That's pretty much it. I love and miss you guys

Beuno Bueno Bueno!

12/31/15
Bueno bueno bueno bueno bueno
MAHAM Y DADDY-O

How's it going family? Everything is peachy keen here. Everything is great, but I think I got a little baggy (homesick) after seeing you guys on Christmas day. But now evertything is good.

This week we passed Christmas Eve and Christmas in the houses of a member until 9:30pm. Then we went to the house but Christmas here is way different. First of all, it doesnt feel like Christmas. It feels like the 4th of July is just around the corner. Second of all, everyone eats tamales that are way nasty. they're like ground up corn with water and sometimes meat that they put in leaves and boil. This week we had like 40 of them! Everybody gave us tamales. I almost died from eating so many nasty tamales. Third of all every one lights off fireworks until like 3 in the morning. So it really does feel like the 4th of July. But other than that stuff Christmas was normal.

We had 2 baptisms two sisters named Mi... and J... we baptized them on Tuesday and they were confirmed on Sunday. We have been working with them for almost a month and a half so it was a miricale that they were baptized. We had lots of trials with them but in the end everything worked out well.

That's pretty much it this week love you guys

Maham y Daddy-O,

How you guys doin?  I'm doing pretty good. I'm healthy but I have lost 15 pounds and I have an ingrown toenail right now. It sucks but I'm getting it taken care of.  Don't y'all worry bout that.  I'm being a good missionary. I'm trying to be as obedient as I can. I'm studying the language and the Gospel, and I'm safe. Don't worry about me everything is fine.

Tell Brynbo HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I swear I didn't forget that it was her birthday. I just didn't think to write about it last week... sorry :[.  How awesome that you guys got to go bowling and do awesome things as a family.

This week was pretty good.  Today we got to go tho this awesome Guatemalan waterfall!  I'll send some pictures of it... They are pretty cool. We also got to work pretty hard this week. The only problem this week I had was that my comp Elder Ro... doesn't like to communicate.  So that sometimes makes me not like him very much.  It gets pretty annoying.  But I won't dwell on that. An upside is that we had 7 investigators in the chapel this Sunday. It was pretty awesome. We went to bring people but nobody that we went for came all the investigators just showed up or members brought them. Pretty cool.

I think I'm going to get transferred this next transfer on the 3rd of Feb which is  (I think) a good thing because even though I like San Isidro, it's kind- of getting a little boring. I want to know other parts of the mission.

Thanks for the baptismal pants I kind of need them here a little bit... also, the same pair of black Rockports would be great, and no I never got my shruken patiarchal blessing but I have the original.

Anyways

I love you guys and miss you
